Happy Fall
Saturday, October 24, 2009

The rainy season is here and so are the holidays! I love this time of year. Halloween is so fun and the kids are exited and then we get into Thanksgiving and Christmas! This year for halloween Kavan is going to be Superman and Kiah is going to be a 'girl dragon.' They are so cute!

Kavan is getting to be such a big boy. He now has a big boy bed and we are redoing his room and bedding in construction equipment. He can recite his ABC's and knows his shapes and colors. He can also count to 10 in both english and spanish. (Thank you Dora the Explorer) But he has a very stubborn side. He is in a stage now where he has to be in control of everything. It is very frustrating at times.

Kiah is getting big also. She will be walking soon. She stands up on her own and has started to clap. It is very adorable. She really needs to work on her sleeping though because mommy needs some sleep.

Josh is really busy (like always). He stated his masters degree this fall and is almost done with his first class. The Navy Reserves have also just released the deployment list and his name is on it, so he will be going on deployment on June for sure. He will be gone for 9 months. I am not looking forward to being a single mom. :( Work at Seattle PD is going good though. I know that he is exited for January to get here so that he can get off probation, but he is still enjoying his job a lot.

I am just up to the same things. Work is good and I like the people I work with a lot. The kids love being with Janet so that makes my going to work easier, but I do miss staying home full time with them. I am really looking forward to April when Josh and I are going to Mexico! Cabo San Lucas! I cannot wait.

I hope that you are all having a great fall and that you get to send all this wonderful time with your families. Love, The Dunbars!

A very busy summer
Friday, August 14, 2009

Hello all, it has been a while since the last blog, and I am sorry about that. We have been busy as usual. The summer is always crazy for us. We have made two trips down to Oregon this last month for family reunions and have really enjoyed seeing everyone that was able to attend. Work has been going really well for both Josh and I and he is having a blast. Police work really agrees with him. He is now shaving his head though and that took some getting use to. Kavan went and spent two weeks with his grandparents and came back very spoiled but happy. He had a blast with both sets of grandparents and loved the farm life. I hear he especially liked the chickens. Kiah is getting huge, she is trying to walk! She is 7 months now and really starting to try out her will. It is funny to see her little attitude, but I can tell she will be a lot like me. OH NO! I am actually looking forward to the end of Summer so I can get some sense back into my life. We have been running so much lately and I am tiered. Well hopefully I will blog again soon and not have these month long breaks. Hope you all are well. Love, The Dunbar's

Playing Catch-up
Thursday, July 09, 2009

OK so I know it has been a while since I have written, and that is annoying for anyone who actually reads this stuff, but I am going to do a quick update, and then hopefully I will do better with my updates.

A lot has happened in the last few weeks, Josh and I celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary! I can't believe it has already been that long. It was nice to sit down and talk about all that we have done these past few years and the blessings that are so apparent in our lives. It is mind boggling to think that in September we will have been a couple for 10 years! A whole decade! That is hard to wrap my head around.

Josh is now off FTO (his field training) so he is on his own in the big ol' city. He works day shift downtown. He has all the stadiums, China town and Pioneer Square in his beat. He stays very busy at work and he is really enjoying himself. It is fun to hear all the stories and about all the dumb things people do. He is getting ready to do his two weeks of active duty for the Navy next month, but it is just at Fort Lewis so it won't be bad. On another very positive note, Josh was accepted into grad school! He will be going to Grand Canyon University online and his master degree will be a masters of science in leadership with an emphasis on disaster preparedness and crisis management. whoa, that is a mouth full! He starts the first week in September and it will take about a year and a half. So like usual Josh is really busy and has so many irons in the fire no one can count them, but he likes to be busy.

Felicia (me, I am going to write this in first person not third) I just got a job at a dental office in Kirkland. I am exited and start work on the 15th of July. It is a really small office with only 3 chairs and that is for the doc and the hygienist both. The doc has had his practice there for over 30 years and he still has a couple of his original employees so he seems like an easy guy to work with. I will only be working two days a week, wednesday and thursday, and it adds up to about 17 hours a week. It will be nice to get out of the house and have a little bit of adult time. Other than that I am still doing the same old mom stuff. The kids are doing wonderful. I am going to be sending Kavan down to Oregon in a few weeks so he can spend some time with his grandparents. He will get to spend a few days with each set so it will be a lot of fun for him. It will also give me a chance to sleep train Kiah and get my house in better order. Kiah is abusing the fact that I can't let her cry for fear of her waking up her brother, but when he is in Oregon, she is in for a rude awakening. Kavan is so big and very busy. He has started to speak some spanish witch is so cute and he sings along to songs in the car. I love it! He is about the size of a three year old and he has really started to discover that he has an opinion and I get to hear about it at every step of the way. (that can get old, but I still think it is funny). Kiah just had her 6 month checkup yesterday and she is a big girl. She is 17# and 27 3/4 in. and very healthy. She is up on all fours and trying to crawl. She has officially said her first word and it was of course "momma" (ha ha Josh)! She loves her big brother a ton and he can make her laugh by just talking. She adores him and tries to play with him and his toys, it is very cute. Yesterday in the car they both fell asleep in their car seats and I looked back and they were holding hands! It was so cute and Josh and I both got a good smile out of it. I hope you all are well and having a great summer. Enjoy the sun! Love, The Dunbars
